Prof. Rejina Maskey Byanju is the current head of the Central Department of Environmental Science, Tribhuvan University, Kirtipur Kathmandu, Nepal. She has worked at different capacities within various field of environment during last 30 years of her service in the University. She has been working on Water pollution, indoor and outdoor air pollution studies, emission inventories, air pollution modeling, forest fire and risk assessment researches with respect to human health and environment.
Dr. Byanju earned a doctorate degree from Institute of Science and Technology(IOST), TU on “Development of low cost passive sampling diffusion tubes for special Monitoring of NO2, SO2 and O3 in Kathmandu Valley in August 2012 and M.S (Environmental Science) from Faculty of Science, Chiang Mai University, Chiang Mai, Thailand, in April 1998 and M. Sc (Organic Chemistry) from Institute of Science and Technology (IOST), Tribhuvan University, in 1985.
Apart from pollution studies she is devoted to different charring technology sector applicable for energy management, pollution control and soil amendment. She had contributed as resource person for Environmental sector in the study of Post Disaster Need Assessment (PDNA)-2015 lead by National Planning Commission, GoN, for recent Earthquake 2015 April, Nepal.
She has served as Resource Persons at various national and international meets, Published about 30 peer review national and international scientific papers, Co authors of three reference books, production of TV programs, bulletins with the various environments related issues of the country, supervised several MSc dissertation researches.
Prof Maskey Byanju is also a Senator of TU Assembly and Member of Faculty Board Standing Committee, IoST, TU.
